We've all heard the phrase 'Fail to prepare, prepare to fail' haven't we?
Well, the same applies to your podcast.
If you don't have a plan for your podcast, and each episode of your podcast, you're not going to be able to communicate effectively with your audience - some of which will be potential clients.
So, where do you start with your episode plan?
Well, you could start with this...

This is a standard episode plan for any business podcast.
It's split into 3 main parts, that cover your intro, the body of the episode, and the outro.
There are timings down the side, with a rough approximation of how long each section should last.
This is by no means the perfect episode plan - but it's a good starting point. Over time, you refine it to fit your content, your audience, YOUR podcast.
Planning your podcast episode means that you can give the most value and/or entertainment to the listener, without wasting time on waffling, or being too sales-led.
As it says in the plan - it's okay to sell your services or products in your podcast - but don't do it too much. If a listener feels that they're just being used as a sales technique, or that your podcast is one big ad, you'll lose them as a loyal listener.
They're looking for a connection with the podcast host - you - and if you don't provide it, they'll go and find it with someone else.
That doesn't mean that you have to talk about your favourite songs, or the perfect holiday - but be yourself. Let your natural personality show through and, in time, you'll begin to create your loyal tribe. Those that feel a connection to you, and your business.
